The procedure is done using a specialized syringe to harvest fat from one area and then injecting it back into the desired area. This procedure is often used to improve facial volume and to help fill in wrinkles and lines. It can also be used to increase the size and shape of the breasts, buttocks, and hands.

Recovery from a fat grafting / fat transfer procedure can vary depending on the area treated and the amount of fat that was transferred. Generally, patients can expect to experience some mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort for up to several weeks after the procedure. It is important to keep the area clean and follow your doctor‘s instructions for care. You should also avoid strenuous activity, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures for several weeks. Most patients can return to their normal activities within a few weeks.
