Brachioplasty / Arm Lift

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that:An arm lift is a surgical procedure which removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms, generally from the armpit to the elbow. The resulting scar from surgery is located on the back of the arm to make it appear as inconspicuous as possible. Occasionally liposuction is added to the operation to improve definition and provide a more sculpted appearance. The surgical area for correction can also be extended onto the upper chest for further contour enhancement. The operation typically takes 2-3 hours and surgical drains are sometimes used.

Brachioplasty is performed as day surgery and patients are able to go home the same day as their procedure. Surgical dressings are left on until the first follow-up visit one week after surgery. Patients usually take 2 weeks off of work after surgery, although heavy lifting and strenuous exercise are restricted for 1 month post-operatively.
